As customary, Rittal celebrated its first day of construction of its new plant in Haiger. For the largest company of the Friedhelm Loh Group, this event - as well as the opening of the global logistics center and the Rittal Innovation Center - was certainly reason enough to also hold a lively family celebration. The Frankfurt-based communication agency PP LIVE was responsible for creating the concept of the festive ceremony and family celebration with a top-notch stage and concert lineup, as well as for the planning, organization, implementation and logistics of this large-scale event with its some 7,000 guests.
"Fit for the Future!" - based on this motto, PP LIVE developed numerous measures that focused on the significance of the new plant itself as well as its commitment to its staff and Germany as a business location. The laying of the foundation stone was the ceremonial act of the event, which was attended by top-notch guests from the worlds of politics, business and media.
Two of the highlights of the day were the commemorative speeches held by Dr. Friedhelm Loh, owner and Chairman of the Board of Executives of the Friedhelm Loh Group, and Minister of the State of Hesse Volker Bouffier. The actual stone-laying ceremony took place after the district administrator and the city's mayor had expressed their congratulations and hopes for the new plant.
Afterwards, Dr. Friedhelm Loh opened the festivities for the large family celebration. On the plant's premises, guests big and small had the opportunity to take part in various events. From face painting to Kuka coaster, from high striker to the 400-meter go-kart track - there was something for everyone's liking on that sunny day. And of course, it was an indispensable point of honor that this day was accompanied by tasty culinary delights.
The evening's program headed by top acts Dr. Eckart von Hirschhausen and Andreas Bourani thrilled the employees of all locations of the Friedhelm Loh Group who had traveled to Haiger for this special occasion. Exciting tours through the innovative high-bay storage facility and the Rittal Innovation Center were further events of the day.
The plant premises - a highly sensitive area - and the location in the center of Haiger presented some special challenges to PP. Special focus was placed on security issues. For the event, which encompassed up to 7,000 invited guests, a viable logistics, shuttle and security concept had to be developed. Detailed coordination with firefighting services, law enforcement, first-aid services and responsible public agencies took place prior to the event to ensure the security of all guests throughout the entire course of the day.
